Greetings from Room 201:
We have finished up our community unit and I thought it would be nice to post some pictures for those parents who have not had a chance to drop by and see it outside our room. The students are also posting some comments about their favorite parts of our community unit. Please feel free to add your own comments!
Currently we are in the middle of our body unit and our fairy tale unit. I will try to post some pictures of the wonderful gingerbread houses the students painted to go along with the Hansel and Gretel story we read. Our fairy tale unit is always high interest. The students have been learning the basic elements of this genre and we have been reading and charting many different ones. We are also comparing different versions of the same tale.
Finally, the Winter Break is fast approaching. Please let me know if you will be picking your child up early before the 18th, or early on the 18th. We will have a special movie showing of a fairy tale and a special snack in the afternoon to celebrate the end of our fairy tale unit.

I liked when Sam B. and I made our house. Also when we made our music store for the community. I loved our class community! In the commumity I made stuff like the school bus, stop signs, plants and cars. Also the person I made, her name was Sarah Parish.

I liked making our mall and house with Julia. Also,I think the music store was good art. In the lake on our community,I made a great sailboat. I made a bush, a bright red car,and two streets named 5th Ave and Park Place. Everything looks great in our community!
